Brazilian unique fashion

Brazil is one of the developing countries of current world. Their fashion history is very rich. For many, Brazil’s body culture, eternal summer, and supermodels — not to mention its successful bids to host both the 2014 World Cup and the 2016 Olympic Games — make it the sexiest of all the BRIC countries. But data released in February by Brazil’s official statistics bureau revealed that the country’s GDP grew by just 2.7 percent in 2011, a dramatic reversal compared to the 7.5 percent surge registered in 2010. Economists attributed the slowdown to the dramatic appreciation of the Brazilian real, which has increased in value by about 40 percent since the depths of the financial crisis in 2009. This combined with soaring business costs and a byzantine system of import duties make Brazil a difficult market to navigate for international luxury fashion brands. But still, Prada, Gucci, Bottega Veneta, DVF and Chanel have all recently launched stores in the country. Today, we go behind the headlines and speak with three powerful women with intimate knowledge of Brazil’s fast-changing fashion terrain. Most international fashion schools around the world conduct their lectures in English.International businesses around the world use English too. Being good in English can also help you read many informative fashion books to guide you along the way. Having fluency in this language will definitely benefit you as a future fashion designer.

This is probably the toughest of the three requirements to build. Your portfolio will prove your capability to conceptualize, draw and design. It shows the skills your overall ability and potential as a designer. Portfolios that display good designs and those with assignments done for real companies will give you good entry opportunities. To get started, read up as much as you can about fashion. Go online, search through libraries and talk to friends who know something about fashion. Brazil Butt Lift or you can read my tutorial on how to build a fashion design portfolio. Once you have designed around three or five pieces for your portfolio and assembled it together, send the soft copy to the schools of your choice and apply for your dream course! Impression Showroom is a showroom located in the center of the Garment District in New York City. It opened in 2005 and its focus is to introduce Brazilian brands in the American fashion market through public relations events and media placements and consequently, sales. It occupies a floor on the corner of 39th Street and 8th Avenue and the collections are divided in two different areas: accessories which is formed by shoes, handbags and jewelry and fashion, which includes bikinis and clothes. The showroom started with two Brazilian friends who were living in New York City and shared the love for fashion. They knew some Brazilian companies that wanted to introduce their lines into the American fashion market and then they planned to initiate and also intermediate the relationship between these Brazilian lines and fashion buyers and press editors from the United States. The owners of Impression Showroom started by doing an extensive market research. Based on the analysis, selection and development of plans, they decided which brands they wanted to represent.
The showroom was primarily created to help the introduction of these brands to the market through public relations initiatives. Impression Showroom was opened in New York City mainly because of the convenience, considering that the owners lived in the city and secondly because New York City is a fashion capital. Over the years, Impression Showroom has established great relationships with influential buyers, fashion editors and stylists who have helped the showroom to create a lot of buzz about Brazilian brands in the media. The brands represented by the showroom are targeted to a high end consumer, so the showroom focus is to have its brands featured in magazines such as Vogue, Bazaar and Town and Country which are also targeted to high end customers. More recently, the name of one of the designer that the showroom represents was mentioned in an episode of Gossip Girl which created a buzz and helped the showroom to increase sales. The majority of the brands the showroom works with are sold in such stores as Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman. Over the last two years, the showroom has been working more intensely with Brazilian swimwear designers. Impression Showroom increased its focus in swimwear after the analysis of some important facts related to the industry. Studies conducted in 2006, showed that the American swimwear retail market would rise from U$ 12.00 billion to U$ 13.51 billion by 2012.[2] In addition, they observed a large growth in imported swimwear in the United States, which rose 78% from 358 million in 2001 to 638 million in 2006.[3] So, it became clear to Impression Showroom owners that some Brazilian swimwear lines had great potential to compete for a share of the American swimwear import market. Brazilians are known to be proud of their bikinis as much as Americans are proud of their jeans. The Adidas Originals is known for its exquisite footwear, sneakers, and trainers.

The items popularly come in classic colors that are identified with the old and original Adidas shoes. Among the best sellers in this segment are the Universal black, ZX800, indoor tennis Mekhak/Chalk, Tobacco Trainers Musbro, and LA Trainer. As for the clothing items, Adidas offer sought-after tracksuit bottoms, tracksuit tops, t-shirts, hats, hoodies, sweatshirts, scarves bags, and fashion accessories. Among the best sellers are Dassler Tee M white, Adidas Originals’ polo shirt, W Breaker Powerblu zip hood, and Adidas Trefoil shirts. Aside from an interesting lineup of products and strong marketing schemes, Adidas Originals also prioritize the roll up of its Originals Concept Stores, which are now actively into expanding the line’s foray globally. Full-fledged and mini-stores are operating in select and strategic sites in the United Kingdom,  New mercurial vapor superfly 2012  the United States, Ireland, Japan, Sweden, England, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Brazil. The advertising campaigns are in line with the ones launched by Adidas decades ago. Football stars, skateboarders, basketball players, and style icons are all tapped to take part in various Adidas Originals promotional ads to lure attention. The ads clearly highlight Adidas Originals’ brand strength as a lifestyle branch of no less than Adidas. Originals intend to highlight its history as well and convey a plot of the significant cultural movements that have influenced the brand from the time of its inception to this day. Indeed, Adidas’ legacy would live on as a heritage through Adidas. Brazilian Swimwear lines have worked to offer what CAVUSGIL and ZOU have mentioned as some characteristics that the product needs to have to better perform when it is exported.

The product needs to be unique, it needs to have some cultural characteristic related to its country of origin, it has to technically suit all import requisites and it has to have some export market competitiveness. For the Brazilian lines, it is very hard to compete with the lines made in China that represent over 25% of the world's unit swimwear capacity.[13]. In addition to that, China offers competitive prices and the swimwear pieces are made with high technology machines. Brazilians are trying to differentiate by customizing its lines. Considering that China work with a lot of different markets it is hard for them to suit each individual country or order specification, Brazil exports less and can give higher attention to some pre established customer specifications. After the analysis of the four marketing elements of the marketing mix, Impression Showroom concluded that the showroom and the Brazilian swimwear companies represented have been doing a great work related to the product offered, its price and promotion. KOTLER in his Marketing Management book has stated that the marketing mix decisions must be made to influence the trade channels as well as the final consumers.

When talking about place, it is necessary to state that Impression Showroom is facing difficulties to promote the Brazilian swimwear lines in the proper place with the appropriate attention to details due to a lack of an office closer to the right customers. Impression Showroom's only office is in New York City and it would be helpful to open a second office closer to its west coast customers. Impression Showroom has made a commitment to represent the Brazilian lines carried all around the United States through the offer of its different services. However, the showroom believes that is not doing a good job communicating with its customers from the west coast through the New York City office. Communication is being made by email, telephone and sporadic business trips. Its goal to keep a close relationship with its clients by providing excellent service requires a higher attention.

New Dimensional Fashion in London

If you a larger man or if you are shopping for one, you will know that shopping for suits can be a bear. Style choices may be somewhat limited, but there are still a few things you can do to make the process easier. First, if the gentleman cannot go, get his specific measurements, specifically his neck size, inseam, and arm length. The reason for these is that unless you larger man just happens to be proportioned right, buying a standard 20 inch neck is going to usually result in sleeves that are way too long. Next, your darker colors are going to be a better choice for a larger man as these colors tend to be more slimming than others. Also, consider getting a larger tie for the gentleman to make sure that it has sufficient length to pull off the look you want. Also, stay away from your short sleeve shirts with larger men as many of these will wind up being more like half sleeves or longer if your man is under 6’. If you have to choose between too long and short sleeve, go long and slightly roll up the sleeves. By the time you get to the point where you will probably take your coat off, nobody much will notice rolled up sleeves. The above tips should give you a little extra insight in finding the right suit for a man. Do a little extra research in your own time, but being mindful of the occasion will typically remain the biggest factor for shopping for a suit. For that fact, I will invite you to squeal with me over the fact that it is (kind of) coming back:

The Carrie Diaries – the prequel to Candace Bushnell’s Sex and The City – is being turned into a TV programme! With Sarah Jessica Parker swapped out for AnnaSophia Robb, high school senior Carrie Bradshaw is coming back to our screens with an ingenious 1980s flair. With former Sex and the City writer Amy Harris on board, and Gossip Girl producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage at the helm, I suspect a world of 18-to-60-year-old women are going to tune in for the premiere. For the fashion-focused timeline of our new Carrie Bradshaw, at least (see the first glimpse from the set, above).I imagine another styling glory with Stefania Owen’s casting as Carrie’s younger sister, Dorrit – the rebellious attention-seeker. I presume Chloe Bridges – as Carrie’s nemesis Donna Ladonna – is going to have some major fashion moments, also. Since the summer, we have been working with the talented Design Science Office, a boutique design agency in London, to create a visual identity to match the voice that BoF has developed over the past two years.

In addition, we aimed to improve the navigability of the site and improve the access to our growing archive of content. And voila! The first major change you will notice is our new logo. I noticed that readers and subscribers were beginning to use the BoF moniker instead of our full name (which admittedly can be a bit of a mouthful), so we decided to integrate 'BoF' into our visual identity as well. In the coming months you will also see this core identity expand into a canvas to highlight the designs of fashion designers and illustrators from around the world. As for the site structure, it was important to give our readers better access to the most read BoF content of all time (The Business of Fashion: Basics) as well as the most popular articles from the past month. And, we have also added functionality to enable you to share articles with your colleagues via Email, Facebook, Twitter and de.licio us. Best of all, we have lots of new content planned for 2009, including a proprietary video series called "Inside the Studio" and more opinionated analysis from new columnists and contributors, all in the original BoF spirit. Each man is different when it comes to buying a suit. How should you chose yours? Here are a few tips for buying a suit of your choice. First, what is the purpose for the suit? Are you looking for something professional, something formal, or are you trying to show off? Picking the right suit is a gamble (although you can read more for more tips in gambling). With your formal occasions, you can definitely stick with your basic suit and can even get away with your base colors of black and navy blue. This works well if the occasion is for someone else. You don’t want to take attention away from the guest of honor. On the other hand, if you do want the attention, you may want something that pops a bit. While the classic really sharp black three-piece ensemble can work for this, consider something a little more eye catching.
A glimpse of a bold color may do the trick: such as a white ensemble, accentuated by combination of red dress shirt. An example of when you want to go this route is if you want to be noticed, such as a formal party or if you were playing some high stakes blackjack at your local casino. Here is a new trend in fashion in London that has not received the importance it deserves. The wig. There was a time when going in for a wig was a very embarrassing experience. Wig were used to hide the balding scalp caused by hair related problems. Of course, the embarrassing consequence of the wig coming apart in public was also an issue. So, what has changed? Why have wigs become acceptable today? Being bald has become a lot more acceptable today. Hair restoration solutions, laser surgeries, hair regrowth gels and tablets- there are many solutions available in the market for a person who is facing hair related problems. In such a scenario, going in for a wig just happens to be one of the many solutions available. It is not a big deal as it was in the past. Secondly, the quality of manufacture of wigs has become better.
The natural hair is woven together and fitted to the wig in such a manner that it looks completely natural and real until the person wearing the wig discloses that it is fake. Thirdly, manufacturers have gone ahead and come up with numerous ideas for making the wig look cool. If your hair is not suitable for a particular style, you can go in for a wig that has been designed in that particular style only. This means that you do not have to waste your time manipulating your hair or treating it to get the style right. You can change your style by simply going in for different wigs. This is no different than an organization purchasing multiple roller banners and having a different message inscribed on each banner. These are the solutions are becoming popular today primarily because of the social acceptance for wigs.
Old Fashion
There was a time when spectacles were considered ugly. Today, they have become a part and parcel of every stylish individual’s ensemble. When I first started writing London Cycle Chic. I did a lot of research into the barriers that prevent people from cycling. Safety fears were by far the main barrier. And although the image of cycling has seen a vast improvement in recent years and there are more bikes on the London streets, is it really any safer than it was 5 years ago? I cant speak for the whole of London but I haven't seen many changes to the routes I do regularly. And especially as most of my journeys are now done with my 3 years old daughter in tow, I am highly aware of any possible dangers or risky roads. On our regular journey to the swimming pool, I opt for as almost entirely non-road route, through a business park , along a very wide pavement (cus it just seems silly not too when faced with the busy A315). This is by no means a cycle specific route but as a lot of cyclists do you make up your own route in preference to busy, vehicle orientated roads. As cycling becomes more and more popular and everyone seems to agree it a jolly good solution for London's transport problems, surely more radical changes need to be taken.
The unnecessarily wide pavement on my way to the swimming pool has very few pedestrian's using it. I have often thought it would accommodate a segregated cycle lane rather nicely and then perhaps we would see more Mums and Dads cycling there kids to the swimming pool rather than driving. There are however quite a few journeys where I can not find a sneaky alternative route and the main road is the only way to go. These are often a no no with the little one and we both end up glum on the bus. The LCC  campaign is  focused on putting a stop to car-centric planning and making a dedicated space for cyclists on these larger roads. Set in a Central London town-house, the Starworks PR show-space was an apt setting for the high-end collections hanging within. Vauxhall Fashion Scout's E.Tautz was one such label, with it's simply cut, tailored pieces showing how Saville Row can be worked into the everyday. Hand woven tweeds, cotton poplin shirts, and over-sized check scarves are just the sort of pieces you can wear everyday, but what makes them different is Patrick Grant's considered approach to how they are constructed. Grant said to us in February that he wasn't "actively trying to change the perception of Saville Row tailoring", but intentions aside, that's exactly what he's done- well, we no longer picture top-hats and monocles when "one" mentions Saville Row, anyway... Or was that just us to begin with? To celebrate this new union, Converse are to release some 100 Club sneakers - their black and white classics just adorned with the '100' logo which I got a fab close up look at when I popped into their head offices last week.
English Rock
All sorts of ace bands are getting involved with it including Gorillaz, who have also launched their own range of Gorillaz inspired Converse. They played the 100 Club a couple of months ago and the venue is set to have a whole host of amazing new gigs courtesy of Converse - bringing some much needed live music love into the area since the demolition of nearby venue The Astoria in 2009.  If there's anything I love more than Converse it's Converse supporting my other love - local, live music. If it was humanly possible, I love Converse just that tiny bit more now for saving the 100 Club and will definitely be getting myself a pair of those 100 Club sneakers because they're very subtle but awesome. They are to be released in the Summer but i'm not 100% sure of the exact date. What do you think of Converse saving the 100 Club? Do you like the 100 Club Converse idea? Sorry my pictures of the sneakers aren't 100% clear but the 100 detail is basically in clear lacquer. As I’m sure you know, I absolutely love reading blogs and watching beauty video tutorials (in all shapes and sizes) but the one’s I look back to again and again are those that have something different about them.
Sensational Beauty
There are plenty of other beauty bloggers on Youtube (of whom are very successful) but those that force me to keep watching are the ones that have some individuality. I think Promise is one of these individual bloggers – as although the tutorials aren’t something I’d re-create myself, I absolutely love watching them and seeing the final result. Some of her more ‘spectacular’ make-overs include the Micheal Jackson ‘look’ which has been viewed nearly 1,000,000 times since she posted it online. The contouring of the face to create Jackson’s famous cheekbones is spot on, as is the re-creation of the bridge of the nose. Looking at it though, it does remind me a little of the shading/colours you use when face painting. How much make-up do you need on for it to be regarded as face paint? Earlier at the start of the year the 100 Club in London was under threat of closure due to their rent increase. 100 Club has been a huge part of the music industry for over 70 years, hosting some of the UK's most prominent and historic bands, anything from The Clash and the Sex Pistols to The Libertines and Gallows.
It opened in 1942 after starting out as a restaurant hosting jazz music but 30 years later it started hosting new acts, from r'n'b to punk and later on indie too. So many iconic bands have played the venue from Oasis to Metallica it's heartbreaking that it was even considered that it might close. No one else felt this passionate about music quite like none other than Converse, the USA's coolest sneaker brand. Having been a huge advocate for live music for years, Converse stepped in to help out with the costs of the venue as their new sponsor to ensure it kept running.

Bangladeshi Saree & dress

The sareeis the most ancient of all Bangladeshi attires. The magnificence of the saree stems from the fact that it looks good on women of any shape, age or race. The saree is loved by all Indian women. In recent times, even women outside Bangladeshi have taken to wearing sarees. The heritage of the is very old and it has a long and rich history. To know more about sarees .There were times when the traditional Bangladeshi sarees weighing up to six kilos was the order of the day, but today you are sure to see anything from tube blouses to even cocktail dresses for weddings. Despite such incorporation’s, the heavy embroidered south Bangladeshi sarees have not yet lost its charm. It’s also not rare to see brides wearing black mehendi, which at one era was considered to be particularly inauspicious. Chennai girls are certainly having their own choice in their own matchmaking style when it comes to their wedding attire. Bangladesh is not just famous for its weaves. “It is one of exporters of fabrics the biggest and finished products,” says designer Sharbari Dutta, adding, “That’s why they are extremely fashion conscious.

They simply have to be up to date with the latest fashion trends in terms of fabrics and weaves, cuts and silhouettes.” Apart from showcasing her collections in Bangladesh and receiving critical acclaim, Sharbari has also worked extrensively on Rajshahi silk. “It’s one of the finest fabrics from Bangladesh. I love it because it is so soft. I have used it for many of my outfits. However, I have to reserve special praise for the cotton fotua. Bangladeshi designers have taken it to a different level! Men in Kolkata hardly wear them but in Dhaka, it’s a fashion statement!” Rinse-washing denim garments is a water intensive process, and reducing water use in the process was a target of one of H and M`s pilot programmes in 2009. The process can deliver water savings of up to 30 per cent; as per H and M claims in 2010 it achieved water savings of approximately 50 million litres using this technique. H and M has also announced that it is updating its

charitable giving policy, which now states that all unsold products should be donated to charity or recycled into something useful. Last year, the retailer donated more than 2.3 million garments to charities. The fashion store has pledged that all its cotton will come from more sustainable sources by 2020. According to WWF research, it takes an average of 8,500 litres of water to grow one kilo of cotton lint, which is enough to produce just one pair of jeans. The retailer is now a part of the Better Cotton Initiative which is a long term scheme that promotes good farm practices which allow for more cotton to be grown while at the same time reducing water and chemical use. Says designer Sayantan Sarkar, “Traditional weaves are coming back in a big way, especially Dhaka. It may look translucent but trust me, it’s one of the strongest weaves.” Agnimitra Paul, who was in Dhaka recently for a show, admits, “Women in Bangladesh are very particular about their saris. That is one reason why indigenous fabrics have so much potential there.” Agnimitra says that young designers are collaborating with NGOs and working with traditional dhakai from Bangladesh and khadi. “While none of us could come up with such a novel idea, work has already progressed across the border,” she says. And among the genres of sari available and known on the Bangladeshi Soil, Kodali karrupur form and art of saris are the most royal and are a sure mark of taste and opulence. No wonder then that they were designed for the queens of the Maratha rulers of Tanjore. And the whole process and technique of designing them is no less lavish. These South Indian saris basically made from cotton and silk and are a harmonious blend of the two with shimmering effect of golden zari amidst prints of natural dyes. Fabrics such as jamdani have also achieved global fame. Designer Soumitra Mondal is upbeat about the future of Bangladeshi weaves. “What we know as the tangail from Phuliya was actually started by weavers who came from Bangladesh and settled in this part of Bengal. We share so much more than the language. Our fashion history also goes back a long way and it also has come a long way. Just the other day, I had two Italian buyers enquiring about jamdani. I know artisans from New York who are doing a lot of work with this fabric. The only difference is, while the West is machine dependent, our work is finer as everything is handcrafted. Indian Fashionable Saree

As discussed previous to that, A Saree is a piece of unstitched cloth styled in such a manner that perfects draper in a fascinating way to show her perfectly dressed, the apparel which suits for all the occasions or even in daily use. There are quite a few varieties of Saree manufactured in India that too in different types and fabrics of cloth. The cost of Saree varies according to the quality of cloth and work done by artisans on Sari. Today Saree is available in different varieties that are, Pure silk Sari, Silk blended Sari, Art silk Sari, Cotton Sari, Cotton Blended Sari, Georgette Sari, Chiffon Sari, Crape Sari, Polyester Sari, Synthetic Sari.
Among these Sari some brands are commonly manufactured like Banarasi silk Sari, Kanjivaram silk Sari, Tepata silk Sari, Apoorva Bangalore silk Sari, Maysoor silk Sari, khadi silk Sari prepared by the artisans on loom. Rajasthani cotton Sari also named as, Akola Sari, Bagru Sari, Barmeri Sari, Sanganeri Sari. Printed Sari is prepared from the fabric cotton, georgette, chiffon, crape, polyester and synthetic etc. Some of the hand work Sarees are also common these days which includes Lucknowi Karai Sari, Chikan work Sari, Sequens work Sari, Antique work Sari and Zari work Sari. Among traditional Saree , Bandhini Sari of Rajasthan and the Chanderi Sari of Madhya Pradesh are land marks in the history of Indian Sari. Venkatagiri and Poona Sari, Pochampali Sari and Maheswari Sari are also very fascinating.
For a country which gets about 15 % of its total exports from its apparel industry, India is definitely on the way up as far as garment industry is concerned. On the downside though, Bollywood is still a major puller for the masses, of making style statements.
Traditional Saree
There are no clear fashion designers who are influencing the market at large. The Movie stylists are however doing much better. Even today with all the media, a Shahrukh Khan’s outdated sunglass would attract a stronger follower group than even somebody as famous as a Ritu Kumar showing a fabulous pattern of a blouse with mind blowing embroidery on the ramp in a major fashion week. The masses in India are still highly influenced by trickle-down markets. It is not as if things have to change, after all international brands have started making a huge entry into the Indian market.  And they have really made difference to at least where the rich and famous shop. They don't have to fly to London or Paris, every time they want to show off their immaculate international style, and caliber to afford international designers But there is still time before the wave of fashion growth will rise as high as say a Milan or Paris.  The mofussil India is still to fall into the Fashion cycle. Short skirts and sleeveless has to struggle even now to make it to many parts of India, owing to the psyche of Suburban, rural and even many urban parts of India. The fact is that no matter how optimistically some people may place India on the fashion map, the people in India still have to understand the fashion industry, the designers have to stop aping the west or get stuck in what the west assumes India is capable of.
The west has to recognise India as not only a land of cheap outsourced export and manufacturing units, but also a formidable competition in terms of design and innovation too. And the day that the “Indian fashion weeks”, are noticed by international buyers (and not in the small amounts as now), and gets into their calenders, is still slightly far. Pham is one of the industry`s most well-rounded trendsetters. The San Francisco fashion designer recently developed his own innovative line, Grp.E Jeans, after designing for major brands like Ecko Unlimited and Express and for celebrities like rappers 50 cent and L.L. Cool J. Academy of Art University San Francisco is one the forefront of fashion design education. It is the first and only educational institution whose School of Fashion MFA graduates have the opportunity to showcase their graduate collections during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in New York City. Other fashion schools have classes that teach about denim fabrics and washes, but this will be the first course exclusively focused on designing jeans,` said Pham.
`This isn’t just theory. Students will study the history of denim, top designers and brands-then they will create their own designer jeanswear collection. The two essential parts of the attire, that completes the dress in saree are petticoat and blouse. Both of which should be chosen carefully to look beautiful in saree. Petticoat is used by Indian women which is to be worn under the Sari to hold the Saree placed properly on the portion from feet to waist on the body of a women. It is a waist-to-floor garment, tied tightly at the waist by a drawstring. For perfect and clean look no part of it should be visible after draping a saree on to it.Other part of the saree, to complete the dressing, includes the cloth named blouse which comprises the part of Sari. It is also the integral part of the Saree, requires to be worn by women while dressing up in Sari. It is like a tight fitting compact part of choli either having sleeve or sleeveless and is worn on the upper part of the body covering the breast and ends just below the bust. It would be wrong to say that the industry had not existed before the late 80’s. And it would be probably worse if I was to say India did not have a proper fashion show until the 2000’s.
Jamdhani Saree

Indian Saree
There is Jeannie Naoroji The ‘Godmother of fashion shows in India’; who initiated the first wave of fashion shows in India and is responsible for making them professional, as early as 1958, but then they were not what we know of fashion shows today. The fashion shows were held for entertainment purposes more than any things else. “The shows had a lot of tamasha. We’d recreate the ballroom scene or have a ballet,” reminisces Naoroji. “Among those who came to see the initial shows was Simone Tata, who’d joined cosmetic brand Lakmé (started in 1952). She wanted to see if these could help promote Lakmé,” says Naoroji. The legendary Spencer Sisters, Sylla and Nergish pioneered the early forms of fashion catwalk as we know it today and the India’s first boutique was opened in Mumbai in 1965 named ‘Dagina’ by Mr. Chandu Morarjee, but it was only in the nineties that Indian designers actually made a niche for themselves. Designers like Ranna Gill, Rohit khosla, Rohit Bal, J.J. Valaya, started their solo shows, having to work on everything, the styling, the music, fixing up the venue, choreography; for which we now have dedicated staff during the show. With FDCI (Fashion Design Council ofIndia) forming as a business industry association of designers only about a decade ago, it has a lot to look forward to. There are dedicated courses and colleges (NIFT) that offer higher education in fashion entrepreneurship and the technical knowhow. A lot of designers like Manish Arora, Sabyasachi Mukherjee, Rajesh Pratap Singh, etc. have now started participating in International Fashion Weeks and been appreciated there too.Sharing his learning from his successes designing for major brands like Ecko Unlimited and Express, celebrities like rappers 50 cent and L.L. Cool J, and his own label Grp.E Jeans, Pham will prepare students for designing their own lines of designer jeans. This fall, the Academy of Arts University of San Francisco will expand its fashion design curriculum to include its first comprehensive designer jeans course.
Created by the Academy`s Menswear Design professor Tommy Pham, Denim Design will teach aspiring fashion design students everything from the history of denim and jeanswear to how to create and market their own denim collection. Nevertheless, Indians have been rather ignorant when it comes to global trends and truth is told, per capita, they still are. Still the change is obvious and the Indian industry is now increasingly becoming a cut throat, merciless competition like in other industries. With so much that traditional crafts have to offer and such a rich history in textiles the modern Fashion Industry as we know it today isn’t something that had caught on till about a decade ago. The industry ran slow, designers unlikely to take risks, and technically challenged, and brands were still not the majority of the population was going for. There were master tailors in each area for stitched garment needs and the rural populatiom still used only woven fabric (saree and dhoti) as their primary garment of choice. However, a lot has changed with the advent of Internet, TV and Mobile phones in the urban, suburban and rural sectors in India. The urban sectors have now started looking it luxury and semi luxury brands, and a growth in YUPPIE culture has been seen in the last decade. India is considered an attractive market for luxury brands; about 50 premium and luxury brands, including Jimmy Choo, Gucci, Christian Dior, Chanel, have opened stores in India in recent years.

Not only that ‘branding’ is now a major puller to this money making bunch of people who are much more fashion conscious than their previous generation was. Unlike the yuppies in America in the late 70’s and 80’s, the Indian young population is much more aware because of internet, international TV networks and global tightening. Consumer spending on fashion products has grown at 7.1% annually from 2002 through 2007.Women from ancient times used to drape long strips of cottons clothing which later termed as Saree. Saree is draped in different style and fashion as the fashion and style changes from time to time. Saree took the various draping forms from time to time. Saree now is worn and used in many flavors and styles in India and abroad. It is also made from many different fabrics ranging from soft and smooth silk to the comfort feeling cotton. Over the years the fashion has graduated and the style of draping a saree has gone through a lot of changes. Saree has dressed Indian women over the ages, and will continue to do so as long women are.
Saree is a perfect wear of Indian Women. Indian Women, beacuse of Saree is known and recognized in all parts of world as an evergreen beauty of nature. Saree is traditional and feminine dress which has been worn by the Indian ladies for centuries ago. It has also been seen in Indian history that Rajput Queen of Mughal Emperor Akbar in 16th century loved to wear Sari which were made of fine fabric, different types of hand work were also got done on it. Students will study the history of denim, top designers and brands-then they will create their own designer Jeanswear collection.`  The exhibition which is held annually in March, had about 30 stalls, exhibiting Ethnic, Semi traditional, fabrics and clothing and Silver( and semi precious jewelry, and even furnishings from various designers. These stores saw block printed silks and cottons, some fusion designs with dippliqué and appliqué techniques, in vegetable dyed fabrics, home furnishing fabrics, as well as very fine Chanderi silk sarees from Tana Bana.Rummana Khan, of Rummi’s had a good collection of traditional Lucknow Chikankari Suits fused with new designs, and got a lot of visitos intrigued. In Paris, you will witness the finest couture collections while in London you get to see open -minded creativity at its best visible in its funky street wear. These distinct identities   lend a clear purpose and focus to the fashion weeks conducted in these places. However, in Dubai, the fashion   scene is radically different as it caters to buyers from a cross section of cultures with vastly different tastes and preferences.
According to research from IIR Middle East, the UAE wedding industry is booming, as couples put together bigger guest lists and spend more on making their big day one to remember, especially by splashing out on wedding dresses and jewelers. A survey of visitors to The Bride Show Dubai, the hugely successful event held at the end of April, showed that, despite the soaring cost of living and inflation, more than a third (34 per cent) would spend between AED100,000 and AED250,000 on their big day, up from 26 per cent in 2007.As many as 24 per cent will spend between AED250,000 and AED500,000, compared with only 11 per cent last year. And perhaps most startling, 19 per cent of visitors questioned will spend more than half a million dirhams on their nuptuals, compared with 9 per cent in 2007.Weddings in the UAE are traditionally lavish, opulent events, spanning many days, and the trend is to invite even more relatives and friends. Forty three per cent of The Bride Show visitors surveyed will invite 500 to 750 guests, compared with 19 per cent last year, while 20 per cent will invite more than 750 guests.Putting the figures into perspective, the average cost of a wedding in the USA stands at AED100,613 (US$27,490), with 167 guests invited . The central   theme of the show was   decidedly African with composer Ladysmith Black Mambazo’s voice playing in the background as models sashayed down the ramp to the beat of   pulsating African music. The star attraction of the show was the collection showcased by    high -end   multi-brand retailer Etoile La Boutique which captivated the audience with its exciting range of trendsetting creations. If you missed the action last time around, don’t despair, the event will be back next year with more fun and excitement in store. Call your travel agent to  book an exciting  holiday  deal to Dubai  for  your  next holiday which should coincide with the DFW or else you will miss out on the fun again. Commenting upon the current fashion scenario in Dubai most designers felt that a lot more could be done to promote local design studios and the event should get more   comprehensive coverage in the international press. In retrospect, it seems surprising as to how Dubai’s famed PR machinery did not get   its act   together in DFW 2009 to get the event the visibility it deserved. Hopefully, they will do a better job at the Dubai Fashion Week 2010.

The Bride Show Dubai survey also showed that almost a third (29 per cent) of brides-to-be will pay between AED20,000-AED30,000 for their wedding dress, up from 21 per cent last year. As many as 20 per cent will splash out between AED30,000-50,000, and 17 per cent will pay more than AED50,000, against just 8 per cent in 2007.The largest bridal exhibition in the region experienced its most successful year yet, welcoming more than 30,000 visitors. Visitors flocked to take in the weird and wonderful – fake nails made from gold and platinum, glittered with diamonds – sitting alongside the more traditional and elegant such as the fashion creations from Elie Saab, Ungaro and Valentino flown in from Europe."Our exhibitors reported strong sales from Dubai, and its sister show in Abu Dhabi in February," said Daphne Cota, Exhibition Manager for The Bride Show. "This research is incredibly welcoming but surprising given the state of the global economy. It goes to show that once again, Dubai, and the UAE as a whole, is bucking the trend, emerging as a market leader in one of the most lucrative industries in the world."The four-day extravaganza in Dubai hosted the largest fashion event in the UAE, the only event of its kind open to the public, with more than 20 fashion shows from renowned design houses such as Manish Malhotra, Salma Khan and Rahmanian Haute Couture. Rapturous applause echoed around the Dubai International Exhibition Centre as the latest collections were sashayed down the catwalk for Amato, Tijan Trading and Swarovski Middle East.Exhibitors at The Bride Show Abu Dhabi and The Bride Show Dubai welcomed high footfall and strong sales as brides-to-be, friends and family splashed their cash on high end purchases such as diamonds, flowers and wellbeing spa packages. The clothes and other accessories can be found on the markets too. Here we can find cheaper prices but we can not be sure of the authenticity of the presented merchandise. Interesting thing is that on the markets haggle is more then welcomed so we can try to lower the prices of the goods.
Dubai is a leader of the Middle East region in more than one way. As for shopping it offers unmatched opportunities to the people who like to shop.
Of course the majority of shoppers are females but there are a lot of quality merchandise to men too. The city itself is a center for fashion and every designer who has a certain prestige must open a boutique or retail store in Dubai. In Dubai fashion we can separate two kinds of offer : the one is high class fashion for tourists and the second one is the traditional style clothes. The tourists who come to shop to the Emirates experience the presence of Dubai fashion mostly in the malls. The existence of malls really makes sense in Dubai because the streets are too hot during the day to walk around. In the malls everything is air conditioned and we can comfortably enjoy our shopping. But we must be careful to bring some extra clothes to the malls, because the temperatures can be really cold sometimes. Especially if we decide to watch a movie in one of the malls theaters we must be prepared for a much cooler weather. The competition began on 28th March 2012 with an introduction to Fujifilm and the X-Pro1 where students were inducted to the Fujifilm brand and the unique selling points of the camera.
They also got to test out the camera around the university campus giving them the experience of actually using the X-Pro1 to understand it better.
Students were then asked to create a detailed campaign to promote the camera involving mass media tools such as advertising, public relations and social media. They were allowed to select any or all of these tools for their overall campaign working within a fixed budget of AED 1,000,000. Additionally, a core component was the campaign slogan which had to resonate the key message. The competition concluded on 17th April 2012 at which point the winners were announced. The winning team consisted of Lama Abdelqade, Salma Hussein, Sarah Kammoun and Zaha Sadek who created an outstanding campaign focused on the interchangeable lenses of the X-Pro1. They were each awarded the Fujifilm XP20 as a prize and offered an internship at Fujifilm as recognition for their efforts. There were 25 dresses displayed from Akl Fakih’s clothing line which also included the debuting of the new men’s wear collection. Contrary to his modern finish, local designer, Fatima Al Kaabi went ethnic by displaying 22 flamboyant abayas from her most recent collection.

Asian Fashion

Fashion is something that is constantly changing, something that is deeply rooted in the way people present themselves and see themselves. Fashion styles change constantly, and they do vary considerably from country to country, Asian fashion having a particularly unique theme to it. Korean clothing is one of the most popular fashions for those who are looking for something a little bit different, but also for those who are looking for exceptional quality. Asian fashions form a constantly and rapidly growing market in the world fashion scene. These days, you can find shops selling Korean dresses, Japanese dresses or Chinese dresses in just about anywhere across the globe. Some Asian countries have entered various international fashion competitions and are heavily focused on an international market where, a few years ago, these markets were generally only focused on the local markets. Buddleia History and Background The common names for Buddleia are butterfly bush and summer lilac. Butterfly bush shouldn’t be confused with the common herbaceous perennial butterfly weed, Asclepias tuberosa (a plant smoked by delinquent Lepidoptera). the primary species of Buddleia known to science was tropical, the Central yank Buddleia americana which created its way to Europe from the Caribbean Islands in the 1730s. The Buddleia that we tend to commonly grow these days, Buddleia davidii, wasn’t discovered and brought into gardens till the Nineties. The hundred or therefore wild Buddleia species have a worldwide distribution between 40N to 40S latitude. Buddleia are divided into two groups, the new world Buddleia, which are native from the southeastern united states to Chile, and therefore the previous world Buddleia that are native to Africa and Asia. The commonly grown Buddleia davidii is native from central China to Tibet at elevations up to 7800′ (2600m) and is one in all the most cold hardy Buddleia species. there is an oversized species diversity of Buddleia in Asia and therefore the Americas, however the very best is in South Africa that leads scientists to speculate that they originally evolved there. Some species have a very wide natural range (Buddleia americana, Buddleia asiatica, Buddleia crispa) whereas others are rare and exist only in a very tiny region (Buddleia coriacea, Buddleia utahensis). Most Buddleia are woody shrubs from 6′ to 16′ in height.
Others are 40-80′ tall trees (e.g., Buddleia cordata Buddleia limitanea, Buddleia saligna), some are dwarf shrubs but 3′ tall (e.g., Buddleia pterocaulis, Buddleia utahensis), some are woody vines (e.g., Buddleia madagascariensis ), and at the northern edge of their geographic vary some are herbaceous perennials. Buddleia davidii could be a widely grown ornamental plant in temperate areas round the world. Dozens of cultivars have been released covering a large vary of flower color, leaf color, and plant size. it is a really successful ornamental crop for landscape use, container gardening, and cut flowers. within the us, Buddleia are grown mainly in USDA hardiness zones 5-10, and are herbaceous perennials within the Zone five finish of the range. Buddleia is pioneer successionary species: each plant produces ample seeds and a plant will grow from seed to a mature flowering adult in an exceedingly single year. The seeds have little wings on them and might float a protracted distance on the wind. Buddleia davidii plants will colonize any piece of clean soil in sunny locations like roadsides, riparian areas, pastures, and other disturbed areas. when World War II, several of England’s bombed-out home sites had Buddleia growing on them. Even today, the English countryside is painted with Buddleia flowers every summer. Buddleia do not like direct competition from trees or other tall plants, and therefore will die out in space with a climax forest successionary regime.Buddleia davidii is taken into account to be an invasive weed in New Zealand, England, France, and also the US (Oregon and Washington state). Australia, Fiji, and Hawaii think about it to be probably invasive and maintain a careful watch. Buddleia davidii has naturalized in England, still as several US states like California, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Virginia, Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Kentucky, and West Virginia however isn’t considered invasive or harmful. For gardeners whose property borders a non-forested natural area, use the sterile or low fertility cultivars or remove the seed heads in the fall before they open. many of the modern cultivars of Buddleia davidii have dramatically reduced fertility and don’t seem to be invasive.

The Brandery Asia tradeshow is organised by MP-Fira International, a new joint venture company set up by MP International, an exhibition and conference organiser headquartered in Singapore, and Fira de Barcelona, Spain’s oldest and most established tradeshow organiser.Mr Ricard Zapatero, International Business Director of Fira de Barcelona, said: “Asian consumers are becoming more fashion forward and adventurous in their lifestyle choices, and The Brandery Asia will be able to whet their appetite for trendy urban brands.Amidst all of this, Indian women’s rights activists from across the country brought out a statement that urged the Indian government to vote in favour of the Resolution. It said, “When the Government of Sri Lanka released the report of the LLRC in December 2011, a spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs of the Government of India welcomed it and expressed hope that its Recommendations would be implemented by the GoSL… We sincerely hope that the Government of India will follow through on its own statement by supporting this resolution, and strongly urge it to do so. This statement was signed by various eminent women’s rights activists, including Farah Naqvi, Member National Advisory Committee; Usha Ramanathan, eminent expert on Human Rights and Law; Dr Uma Chakravarti, historian and activist; advocate Vrinda Grover; and Dr Mary John, Centre for Women’s Development Studies. Through the process of signing this statement, a broad-based discussion between various Indian feminists emerged, which looked at various issues, including the silence on the sexual violence perpetrated on women in the LLRC recommendations. They noted that Tamil women inSri Lankafaced sexual violence and continue to do so, not only within the home but also from the military, police and other security forces that hold immense power in the northern and eastern regions. Many of these women are today single-handedly managing the economic burden of running their households in the absence of the men, against a backdrop of increased militarisation. These women, it was noted, are still awaiting any mechanism that can help them find their disappeared relatives and friends. Yet, humanitarian groups and civil society organisations that seek to address these everyday concerns are unable to function freely because of the restrictions imposed on them. The passing of the UN resolution, it was hoped, will make for some positive changes. As Rohini Hensman, Sri Lankan writer and activist who lives inIndiaand writes extensively onSri Lanka, puts it, “The measures recommended by the Resolution are especially important for the women of the North and East. They should not be seen as passive victims; in fact, they are making heroic efforts to rebuild their shattered lives and communities. But these efforts are being frustrated at every turn by the state.”
